A final plea for a reprieve
Moved by the incredible bond between the puppies, the staff realized they had to make one last attempt to save them. So they took an adorable photo of the puppies kissing and posted it on social media, along with this heartbreaking call: “I’m Kala. This is Keira. We’re so scared here. Today is it. is our deadline. We must have someone to save us, or we will be next. ” And there, miraculously, the message went viral and in less than two hours, their rescuer showed up. This anonymous foster father couldn’t adopt the dogs permanently, but he welcomed them into his home until a family finally showed up to adopt them forever.
Happy until the end of time
It was then that a couple of friends, Pam Cody and Wendy Newman, heard about the hair duo. Pam and Wendy instantly fell in love with the puppies and the two pairs became a family of four. Five years later, Kala and Keira, still live as if every day is their last – only now they do it with a big smile on their chops!
