The shelter did not expect this news
Recently, an 18-year-old girl named Cheyenne Baird turned up at the shelter to claim that she and her best friend were the owners of the puppy. They said they rescued him two weeks ago.
Cheyenne said she left the puppy with an ex-boyfriend’s family for a night, and she would never have treated her dog like that.
The shelter warmly thanked Dennis for his heroic action, but for him it was the least they could do.
The shelter has received many requests from people interested in adopting the puppy, but the investigation to identify its true owner is still ongoing
