“Now I am dead!” : The farewell letter from a refuge puppy shakes up Germany!

Fatal abuse of illegal puppy trade

This fight for his survival is described in the farewell letter written by the Berlin animal welfare agency. But despite their tremendous efforts, the dog eventually died of  parvovirus ,  a truly serious illness that frequently kills illegally traded puppies that are “produced” overseas and taken away from their mothers far too soon.

In Germany, like everywhere in the world, the puppy trade has been booming since the health crisis. “Berlin has literally been teeming with puppies since the start of the coronavirus pandemic ,” writes the Berlin animal shelter. Through this message, the shelter wants to encourage adoptions, and above all to discourage people from trying to do good business by buying puppies on the Internet. Because unfortunately, this often hides traffic.

The poor doggie has really had no luck in his short life. Because when his illness broke out and he needed love and care all the more, his owners simply abandoned him at the Berlin animal shelter with the sole justification that they were not not attached to him enough to care for him.
