A dog found on the edge of a highway in Texas has been rescued twice. First, certain death on the side of the road, then euthanasia. A rescue that could have cost the lives of his two rescuers.
The double penalty
It was while driving on the highway that Shelby Stevenson, accustomed to animal rescues , saw a dog on the side of the road.
The animal, petrified, remained motionless on the roadside, grazed by passing cars. Shelby stopped to rescue him: “I asked him to lie down and called about 18 different places to try to find someone who could help me get this dog out of there” she explains.
