3 months ago, a dog named Spike was found on an abandoned site with its paws hampered by a clamp … To the general amazement, justice demanded that the doggie be returned to its owners …

On February 28, in the middle of the night, the inhabitants of Rozay-en-Brie heard moans . Several people then went out into the street to see where it could come from …

A dog on his own

It was in abandoned land that Spike was found, his legs tied with a cable tie and tied to a chain. The gendarmerie was then notified, as was the pound. Finally, the doggie will be taken care of by the Stéphane Lamart association during the investigation, because his family has been found.

Why did you leave a dog in such terrible conditions? The family of Spike would have explained, according to Stéphane Lamart, that the doggie ran away too often from the neighbors and that he could not enter the house because it was too dirty.

A case closed by justice

Following an investigation deemed too fast by Stéphane Lamart, the Meaux prosecutor’s office decided to dismiss the case because the mistreatment of the dog would not have been proven. A disappointment for the Stéphane Lamart association which explains that all this comes from the fact that the veterinary certificate was not transmitted to the prosecution by the gendarmerie. This while the certificate in question does indeed attest to the mistreatment of which Spike was victim:

“Found the night of February 28 chained to the stump of a tree in a lot for sale. He was hampered by Serflexes on the right posterior and the left front, all connected to a chain attached to a stump. He also had a chain around his neck so tight it had to be cut with pliers to be able to free Spike from this extra painful hindrance. Today, it is a very fearful animal which lies down if you raise your voice and which needs to be reassured (mistreatment, violent training?). However, he remains very cooperative in the care despite the lamentable circumstances of his discovery. He presented with neck pain which required acupuncture and oral anti-inflammatory drugs so that he could lower his head without pain.

The fight continues for Spike

But the Stéphane Lamart association does not intend to stop there and has already decided to continue the fight for Spike. The decision to seize the police court in direct summons was therefore taken and could be a game-changer for the dog.
