Unfortunately, some animals are cruelly abandoned in the last years of their life by owners who do not want to accompany them until their last breath.
Last year, a 10-year-old female German Shepherd named Bella nearly drowned in the River Trent in England. Her previous owners had abandoned her with her leash attached to a large rock submerged in water.
The DOG struggles not to drown
Bella struggled to stay alive before being spotted by two dog walkers, Jane Harper and her friend Joanne Bellamy. Despite the size and weight of the rock, Bella struggled to stay afloat.
After rescuing the dog and removing her from the water, the hikers immediately took Bella to the local vet. The poor louloute received all the care she needed and was subsequently transferred to RSPCA.
The RSPCA and local police have launched an investigation to find out who was responsible for this terrible act of animal cruelty.
