The Dog had just given birth
The shelter vet found that the dog had recently given birth, but did not have any puppies with her.
The employees hoped the mom dog had her puppies safe somewhere, but they knew they had to act quickly to get her back to her cubs.
It was very cold outside and snowfall was forecast. The employees knew it wasn’t long before they found the puppies.
They decided the best course of action was to bring the bitch back to the exact spot where they found her, in the hopes that she would lead them to her cubs.
