Last year, Toro the Pit Bull was found chained outside with two other mistreated dogs, with a collar weighing more than 6 pounds.
Taken into the care of a shelter in New York, Toro was adopted some time later, but was unfortunately brought back by his new owners.
Today, Toro is slowly relaxing in the environment of the refuge, and loves going out for a walk with the volunteers who have a weakness for his big hugs.
